The Netherlands has blocked three Russian gymnasts from competing in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The athletes, including Olympic champions Angelina Melnikova and Viktoria Listunova, were denied visas due to concerns over international relations.
The Russian Gymnastics Federation confirmed the visa applications were refused, citing potential threats to international relations. The gymnasts have previously shown support for Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the war against Ukraine.
The decision prevents them from competing in the championships, scheduled for October 17-25 in Rotterdam.
