The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force says a 42-year-old Jose Hill resident was charged after officers reported finding approximately 50 kilograms of suspected cocaine in a pickup truck during searches in Long Bush on October 15.

Eduard Ramirez faces charges of possession of a controlled drug and possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply. Police said he remains in custody pending an appearance at the Magistrate’s Court. The charges are allegations, and no finding of guilt has been made.

Police described the operation as part of efforts to disrupt organised drug trafficking and encouraged members of the public to report information through the RVIPF Intelligence Unit.
